These products replace obsolete No. 6 batteries such as the EN-6, Seagull, Ray-O-Vac, Bright Star, etc. Long Life and G cells will run most clocks for 2 years. These No. 6 batteries are NOT "faux" batteries nor are they No. 6 "look alikes." They set a new standard as the No. 6 battery of the 21st Century. Read why here.

On the inside, soldered connections throughout, protection circuitry (on 3 volt and Long Life models), and reliable electronics are what distinguish our products. All No. 6 units come with internal alkaline flashlight D batteries installed and ready to go. Internal alkaline flashlight D cells are replaceable on all units except the Model 1900A alkaline No. 6 battery.

Note: These products provide the correct voltages and signals originally intended for these self winding clocks. In addition to restoring the vintage aesthetics, they replace unsightly transformers or circuit board modules, rectifiers, black boxes, or batteries with incorrect voltages or poor connectivity. Unfortunately a previous collector may have chosen to be "clever" and use cheap, unprotected battery holders to power their clocks. Often the batteries leak onto the clock, wires get gummed up from electrical tape connections, exposed connections short to steel clock cases, and holes are drilled where they should not be. Our No. 6 products eliminate all of these problems permanently.

Which product do I need?

PLEASE READ! Selecting the right battery for your clock is important! Most of the questions we receive are from customers who own Self Winding Clock Co. of New York clocks. If you own a Self Winding Clock Co. of New York clock (sometimes referred to as "Western Union" clocks):

If your Self Winding Clock Company clock has synchronizer coils:

If you are replacing batteries in a Self Winding Clock Co. of New York or "Western Union" model, look to see if there are synchronizer coils. These are two large black cylinders on the upper right side of the movement. If there are, we strongly recommend you purchase the very simple to install and use Model 1900GS No. 6 Synchronizer Kit. This kit powers the clock, AND provides a replica of the Western Union impulse to your clock's synchronizing coils on the hour. Your clock will retain its vintage appearance while rekindling the nostalgic experience of time synchronization once provided by the Western Union service. The 1900GS Kit is calibrated so that your clock will become more accurate than any quartz watch on the market. If you prefer, you can purchase the Model 1900R/1900S Kit instead of the Model 1900GS Kit above. The Model 1900R is rechargeable! That means you will never have to take the battery out of the clock again! Otherwise it is exactly the same as above.

Either kit contains full instructions and wire for connecting to the synchronizer coils.

If your Self Winding Clock Company clock does NOT have synchronizer coils:

If your clock does NOT have synchronizing coils, then either the economical Model 1900A Long Life (internal cells NOT replaceable) or the Model 1900L Long Life (internal cells ARE replaceable) are the preferred choices. These units use two alkaline D batteries in each No. 6 unit. Great for clocks, vintage telephones, cigar lighters, etc. The Model 1900L is available in red Long Life label or traditional label. If you do not email us any prefrerence, we will ship the battery kit with the "Long Life" red label shown in the store below. Model 1900A has its own distinguished label.

Other Clock Manufacturers:

If you are replacing the batteries in a Seth Thomas 86A, Hipp-Toggle, Getty movement clock such as American Clock Co., Imperial, Trinity, or Gregory impulse clock which wind every 4 to 7 minutes, then you should ONLY use the Model 1900G (also a No. 6 unit). The 1900G, with its internal regulation and ultracapacitor technology, produces a solid, regulated output of 3.3 volts to assure reliable winding for impulse-wound clocks. Read our technical bulletin here. A single 3.3 volt unit takes the place of two traditional 1.5 volt No. 6 units.

Once Per Minute Impulse Clocks/Slaves (Standard Electric, IBM, ITR, Stromberg, etc):

If your clock winds once per minute, then you need the Model 1900W-UNV Universal Clock Winder. This highly acclaimed product provides the signal needed to efficiently wind master clocks that wind every minute--from batteries! Not sure what voltage you need? The Model 1900W-UNV Universal Clock Winder automatically adjusts its voltage to the appropriate level needed by any master or slave clock up to 25 volts! The No. 6 version is the same as the modular unit but the replaceable batteries are built in. Alkaline D batteries are included with No. 6 units. The modular unit includes a D battery holder, or can be run from line power if you order the optional EnergyStar Line Power adapter.

The Model 1900W-UNV series are slave clock drivers. The economical Model 1900W Modular unit is the best choice for driving slaves--with unquestionably the best timekeeping accuracy available anywhere. The 1900W-UNV offers both minute impulse and half minute impulse modes required by some Self Winding Clock Co. and Pulsynetic units.

We now offer the 1900W-UNVR with reversing polarity drive for Magneta, TN, Gents, and other European slave clocks requiring reversing drive. See below to purchase. Same highly acclaimed accuracy.
