Ever have COVID? If you have, and it was a middle of the road case, maybe you know what it can do to you. You don’t care about inquiries, phone calls, emails, orders or anything else. You just want to stop the symptoms any way you can. That’s all you have energy for. I am […]
SWCC Mainsprings No Longer Available
We are no longer providing our MS-1 on the e-commerce site. There were multiple strengths used in the original manufacture of SWCC movements, and multiple movement styles. Given the rarity of need to replace these springs, it doesn’t make sense to offer multiple versions on the e-commerce site. However, if you think you need a […]
Cloth Covered Wire No Longer Available
We have made a decision to no longer carry cloth covered wire. There are several reasons for this. First, the wire is getting very difficult to obtain. Most of our historic suppliers have stopped carrying the size needed for self winding clocks. While other sizes are available, we’re here for the purpose of providing wire […]
Urgos Auto Beat Escapement Challenges
Urgos movements are often found in older, high-quality grandfather clocks such as Howard Miller, Ridgeway, and others. Although Urgos production stopped in the late 1990’s, many are still found in clocks manufactured before 2000, and are commonly found in clocks manufactured from the 1970’s to the 1990’s. Suppliers of similar movements claim that the movements […]

Maintaining a Vintage Mechanical Clock–wait, what?

Surprisingly few actually do. Folks seem surprised when the clock stops working after 10 years of neglect. Recently we had a customer send an […]
Price Increase on Products
As of February 15, 2022, we will be implementing a price increase on many products such as batteries, synchronizers, winders, dials and parts. We have not adjusted pricing on these products in 10 years. Due to supplier increases resulting from well-known supply chain issues, this is unavoidable.
Temporary Outage & Pricing Format
We want to apologize for the temporary outage late February 12 and early morning February 13, 2022. The site experienced an unexpected outage that was quickly rectified once it was discovered. Also, the pricing format issues have been resolved. If you are still seeing issues, try clearing your browsing data; that should get you the […]
Take care of your glass!
As you probably know, many clocks have beautiful glass meant to protect the dial, keep dust out of the movement, and keep curious fingers away from pendulums. If your glass should be broken, it creates a great hazard to anyone that may come in contact with it; so please, safety first! Once you have meticulously […]
Lead Times Update November 2022
We now use a waitlist to manage customer project scheduling and do not wish for you to send your clock to us without first being on the waitlist and having the project scheduled. Please contact us for more information. More information on this can be found here. We are still at about an 8-9 month […]
