Introduction: Our first publication of Self Winding Clock Restoration Tips was 2010. This first publication highlighted an in-depth review of the electrical theory, as well as some related history. Covered in Tips was basic restoration information and electrical components. In December 2012, the first edition of Tips 2 was published as a more comprehensive, in-depth restoration guide for the Style F self winding clock movement. Tips 2 represented new information we had learned to that point.
In September of 2020, we once again updated Tips 2, this time with the addition of over 35 new photographs, instructions, supplier tips and information. On September 28, we proudly presented a live Zoom meeting to nearly 40 interested NAWCC participants including Chapter 21 members, guests and friends. We will soon post the link to this video, which walks you through the updated document in detail.
On October 3, some additional material was added to the Tips 2 pdf, which is included here.
We hope you will find the latest version of Tips 2 helpful to your self winding clock restoration efforts!
